Legislative Alerts

Constitutional Home Educators Alliance is hard at work educating our communities on issues that affect home education and parental rights. We are monitoring many pieces of legislation and have compiled them here for you to review.  If you would like to contact your legislators about any of these issues but do not know who they are, you can find them by clicking HERE.

Each year, after Thanksgiving, we start the process of scanning through every piece of legislation as it is filed. This is something that has to be done daily and that takes hundreds of man hours. If you would like to help in this process, we would appreciate and welcome your participation.

Please contact us if you feel this is a way you can help to protect your home education freedom.

Empowerment or Enticement?

School choice is the conversation to be had this year in the home education and legislative world. New bills are knowing at our back doors, wanting us to accept "free "help" in the form of government funding. We are strongly opposed to any legislation that provides government funding for the Oklahoma home education community. When the government pays for private school, it is n longer privately funded, and therefore, no longer private. When the government pays for your home education, you are no longer constitutional home educators, free to teach your children as you see fit. Accepting government funds means accepting government oversight and regulation. Oklahoma is unique in that, we have the choice to choose from three forms of education for our children. We already have public, private and other means. When the government pays for all three choices, the choice goes away, and the only "choice" is the location.

SB1471

This is a bill we at Constitutional Home Educators wrote as a response to the continued push for "helping" home educators offset the cost of their education. It is a tax credit, and eliminates the need to accept any form government funding. You can read more about this bill HERE.
